4:53 a.m. - Yesterday wasn't awful, which is usually the case at school after a long weekend break. I had an angry parent call, got around to classrooms, did a lot of shoveling, supervised playground in a snowshower, etc... - just another day at ICE. And that was after caring for the animals at my mom and dad's house. It was a 1:30 dismissal day due to the snow, so I used the opportunity to get to Farm-n-Fleet and purchase some new overalls to keep at school. That item wasn't cheap. Oh, and I did stop at Walgreen's in Milan to pick up my prescription too. Then I drove to my game in Prophetstown - it wasn't easy, but I had very experienced partners, so it was fun to work with them. In fact of the six officials that were assigned to games there, I think I was the only official that hadn't worked state finals. It was a bit of a "shot-in-the-arm" to be able to do that. And on the 45 mph way home, I stopped by the farm again to care for the animals again. And then when I got home, I started working on clearing the driveway, and Brandon came over and helped, which was very appreciated. He was working on his driveway with his 4-wheeler, and he noticed me outside our house, so he headed over. It was great.
Today. There is not a 1:30 dismissal. That's not necessarily a bad thing. And there is no officiating tonight, which is definitely not a bad thing. It will be great to have a night off. And yet I have to care for animals before and after school again. I think this morning I need to push some snow again - likely at the farm and at school.
