5:01 a.m. - Yesterday was a good day, I think. It was bitterly cold outside, but I shoveled the driveway a little at the end from where the plow placed some extra snow. We also attended Kollyns's birthday party at the IBEW hall. That was a little longer than I expected with cleanup after the party. We missed the Bears' game, but they won 31-3! When we got home, I watched some football, and the Southwells grandchildren arrived to decorate cookies. I took a little nap on the new bed downstairs in the basement, and it felt good. The news of the day for me was my attempt to complete a legs workout downstairs in the basement. I was able to do it...sort of. Let's just say I got through it with some adaptations, but I really stressed my hamstrings and now realize why I'm having problems when trying to officiate - my hamstrings, butt, and abdominal muscles are really, really weak. I need to continue to do those leg workouts and strengthening my legs and core.
Today...it's a Monday, and it's the first day of the last week of 2026. And it's a BOE meeting night. And the cold is going to keep us inside today. Yes, it's going to be a long day.
