6:03 a.m. - As of today, Amber and I have been married 10 years. Our small wedding was at Reynolds United Methodist Church, and we had a reception at the lodge at Black Hawk State Park. Thank goodness we didn't have the weather we are having this week. Our ten years together has been a great adventure full of love and laughs. We've managed to navigate difficulties as they have surfaced, and we do our best to be flexible and blend our families however and whenever we can, and that's a lot to juggle sometimes. And now we have six grandchildren and two more due this summer. I guess a lot can happen in 10 years!
Today's weather is improving, but it still sucks as light snow showers are in the forecast. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little better. Saturday is supposed to be sunny be still colder than average for our area. And Sunday may include rain again...sheesh.
Yesterday's presenter at school was a recruiter from the NAVY. Like usual, the rep just attempted to wing the presentation each period, and the students recognized that, which was good. It's unfortunate that virtually any military rep I've ever worked with doesn't take the time to organize an effective presentation because the military path really has some good advantages for students to consider. Today's presenter will be more organized and more effective. I've known Jodie from Morrison Tech for a long time, and he always does a great job. Apparently she's bringing another rep with her who is learning to give the presentations.
And then tonight we have a birthday party for Brinley at our house. I'm not sure if I'll get my stuff loaded in the camper or not. I may have to just wait and try to do that tomorrow. I don't have any softball until next Tuesday, but that was planned. It's been a long time since I have worked any games. When I finally get on the field again, it will seem like I'm starting the season all over again.
