Friday, April 19

5:59 a.m. - The week continues...two steps forward, one step back.  I finally got a haircut yesterday but only because softball was washed out again.  That makes seven rainouts for the season, which is over $1,000 is umpiring checks.  That's a bit of a sting on the wallet.  Yesterday at school, we did get through a bunch of student presentations.  They are as expected, and I'll get frustrated going through them and scoring them, but at least students had the opportunity to learn about the variety of paths that are available to students.   After getting my hair cut, I did get a little bit done around the house after the rain showers departed.  I got the truck out of the garage and put the chlorine away.  I also put the generator back in its storage spot in the garage since we didn't need it from the storms earlier in the week.  I also worked on the pool a little bit and lowered the pool level.  I'm hoping today after school to get some chlorine dumped in and get the pool filter going again.

Today and this weekend we won't have rain, but the temps are still going to be very cold.  That hike/run I have tomorrow isn't going to be pleasant.  Experiencing those hills at Loud Thunder isn't really pleasant anyway, but experiencing them in sloppy mud and cold temps is really not going to be pleasant.  In some ways the cold may help, just because the mud won't be softer until later in the day.  I have no expectations of finishing, and if it's too crappy, I'll just pull out and head to my camper and clean up and get warm.  I'm pulling the camper out to Loud Thunder today after school, and that won't be warm either.  The whole week has been a battle, so the weekend might as well be a battle too.
