Saturday, April 13

4:24 p.m. - I'm just getting back home from the campground.  It's been a busy 24 hours, and I'm going to keep moving all through tomorrow about this time.  School went okay yesterday; I survived.  And then it was off to West Lake Park Terrace Campground - site 68.  The winds were a little more that I preferred, but we were still able to have a nice campfire by the end of the night.  For supper, Amber and I ate at the Mexican restaurant that is nearby.  I wrapped up the evening by watching some Hogan's Heroes on MeTV.  Oh, and the grand finale of the campfire was a hollowed out piece that we put on last.  Because I like campfires, the log almost acted like a chimney with flames shooting out of the top...it kept me watching for a long time before turning in for the night.

This morning was a good breakfast on the Blackstone followed by a little walk around the park with Amber.  Then we drove over to LeClaire to watch Ava play soccer.  After that, it was back to the campground for some laziness.  The temps were in the 70's, so we got the lounger chairs out and just relaxed...it was great.  One other thing I forgot in the morning was that we took a quick trip to Camping World for a couple of things I needed to pick up for the camper.

So now I'm home because I needed to run back and check on Bella and make sure she had food and water.  I'll take care of a couple of other things, and then I'm headed to help my mom with her trivia night for her saddle club.  It's something they do every year for a fundraiser, and my brother is not available, so I get to help her emcee the event.  I've done it before, and it's something I can do to help mom out.  I just hope the evening goes quickly because I would like to get back to the campground and have another fire tonight.  I picked up some more firewood on the way here just to be prepared.

Tomorrow is going to be a bit of a work day.  I'll enjoy the morning, and get a walk in, but I'll be getting the camper home so I can work on the yard and possibly pull the pool cover.  I may even drain the hot tub and move it outside.  So I've got a full day planned tomorrow....busy, busy, busy.
