7:35 a.m. - I finished a book yesterday...it was a bit disturbing...basically, sometimes parents don't do a very good job with raising their children. The children, though, have a responsibility and capability to eventually to recognize and do different or be different than their parents. In the end...no one gets a pass. Life includes regrets; life includes mistakes; life includes shortcomings; but life also includes new opportunities. The book wasn't an easy read for me...perhaps that's good; perhaps that's not good. I do like the fact that in the crappy weather we are having that I read a book. Reading books gives me health.
Also yesterday I had a chance to hang out with Chase. He seemed good...had worked at day at his job. He isn't conversational. We aren't close, but then again, I'm not exactly close with my dad either. Maybe Chase and I will get closer as we age. We ate some supper that Amber had made, and then we went and grabbed some ice cream. Then we came back and watched King Richard. That's the movie that Will Smith won an Academy Award for best actor. That's the same ceremony that he slapped Chris Rock over a joke about Smith's wife.
Yesterday, we did also do some additional work in the camper. I think we are going to head out on Friday morning and give camping a go, despite what looks to be lower than average temps and a little bit of rain. I'm going to be watching basketball Saturday night anyway...I hope I can...UPDATE..the games are on TBS...ugh...I won't be watching the Final Four Saturday night...oops. There is my first camping miscue of the weekend.
8:40 update...the weight room has been moved to the "girls gym" in the junior high. I like it there. I did a little (very little weight) strength training, and it felt good. Loud Thunder also reported that everything will be open and ready to go...I'm looking forward to it.
