6:03 a.m. - Beware the Ides of March...and I'm hurting. I have a bad head cold, and my body aches from pulling a million staples from the flooring yesterday after school. I know I'm showing my age when the hardest part of the job is just getting up and down. Yesterday the ISAC rep was weak, so I had to help out. That's not unusual, and today's rep is a "newbie" too, so I'll probably be helping out with him too. I still think it's good to have someone else come in and visit and speak with the students as a third party expert, but the day isn't a short one when I'm trying to do my thing and the rep's thing. Also today, I'll be working my first softball game. It's JV with Pete at Sherrard. So it's lower level, with a familiar partner, and it's close by. Those are all good things as I attempt to remember all the things I need to umpire softball on cold Spring days.
I did sleep a little better last night despite my cold, but I'll still be taking some Tylenol before I leave for the building.
