This is how my day begins each day.  Bella must be cared for.  First, she must be fed ASAP in the morning, and morning is not a fixed time.  Sometimes Bella will attempt to insist that morning is 5 a.m.; other times it's later.  This means that sometimes Bella gets launched from the bed.  She has developed an understanding on most mornings, though, that recognizes that attempting to wake the people up for breakfast before they start moving is a bad idea.  So now, as soon as I start to stir to wake up or an alarm goes off, Bella is talking and reminding her people that she is hungry.  Then after breakfast when I'm up on the computer getting my day straight in my head, she's with me on my chair, usually on my shoulder, but today she managed to get the full snuggle on the belly spot.  This routine isn't confined to the office chair in the computer room; this also occurs on the recliner in the living room if I happen to be waking up with the news.

I'm going to focus on the positive today.  Today is the last volleyball match.  Today Mike Ellison is going to talk with students about apprenticeships, and he's been with me for a few years, so I basically don't have to worry about him.  No, I'm not going to focus on last night's first high school softball game of the season.  I'm not going to talk about the very cold temps or that my Alleman at Sherrard game got a last minute change to Rockridge at Sherrard, so I started the season with my students - something I generally try to avoid.  No, I'm not going to talk about the 22-12 final score of a game that lasted almost 2 and a half hours.  No, I'm not going to talk about how I took a foul ball off my hand.  Finally, because I had the plate last night, I'm not going to talk about how tired I am this morning from half a million squats.  Nope, I'm not going to talk about any of that.  I'm going to focus on the positive today.

Did I mention that I got my youth softball umpiring schedule for the weekend?  It's going to be a long weekend.  I'm hoping tomorrow night, Amber and I can go out for a nice dinner.

• create the next day's agenda and schedule post to stream - through April 30
• add assignments/activities/resources to Google Classroom as needed - through April 30
• score assignments and record into Lumen as needed
• respond to student/parent emails and update grades
• schedule FRW assignment - not again until May

• send amber a reference letter example
• make new seating charts for week of April 26
• return USSSA jacket
• Thurs. 4-22 5 p.m. VB at UT with Chet (He is picking me up at 3:45 p.m.)
