Friday, April 16

6:30 a.m. - I woke up this morning, and most of the news so far is bad.  Another mass shooting occurred last night at a FedEx facility in Indiana.  Another bodycam video of a police shooting was release - this time in Chicago.  And I didn't lose any weight this week, mostly because I haven't figured out how to better curb my appetite at night.  (When I finally get home, I just want to sit, and I just want to eat, and I just want to go to bed.  That combination with too much food, just doesn't help me lose weight...no kidding, right?)  Okay, so let's try to be positive here.  This week has been a LONG one, but it's also been productive.  The training path presenter series is underway and yesterday's remote guest speaker worked about as well as it could have.  Today is Muscatine Community College, and there is a new rep, which is not uncommon.  New reps are fine, but I have to be a little more involved than experienced reps.  How about the weather?  The temps are still supposed to remain cold - continuing on to next week.  While this doesn't necessarily help me mentally, the grass isn't growing as much, so perhaps I can get to that after school today.  Also, while I'm not really getting the camper out, I'm also not getting the pool out, so I'm not dumping chemicals in the pool when nobody can swim anyway.  Also, the Reynolds Telephone Company apparently was here yesterday to install the new cable line - that's the good news, so now I should be able to bring the camper back home and park it next to the house.  The bad news is that the workers cut out gas line to the pool and the mediacom line, so apparently there were a lot of vehicles here yesterday working through that issue.  I was oblivious to all this, and maybe that was a good thing.  I plan on taking a look today at the scene to see exactly how much of that area has been chewed up and will need my attention.  More good news...only one week of volleyball left, but next week is a three sport week - volleyball, softball, and junior high girls basketball.  Also, while it appears to be cold this weekend, dry weather will get me on the diamond for some youth softball, which is good since I have an IHSA softball game next week and get a little practice in before that high school game.
