5:01 a.m. - Today is already starting out much better than when I had surgery on the right knee on April 16.  Sure, my knee and leg hurt, but they were not on "fire" like I had felt with the right knee.  And I was able to pee on my own power throughout the night, which was much, much appreciated - even though I still have to pee gallons every couple of hours.  I did get some sleep last night, which was nice - perhaps 4 hours of sleep all total?  

I was told by Amber that Dr. Hussain said the left knee was worse than the right knee, but I'm having trouble believing that.  I'm sure he won't be in for awhile this morning, but I'm interested to hear from him when he does arrive.  I'll also be working with physical therapy, which will include demonstrating that I can get up and down stairs.  I just had some blood work done a few minutes ago, and I had vitals taken along with another pain pill.  I think all that stuff is normal.  

So basically, I'm ready to go home right now, but I'll probably be lucky if I'm home by noon.  I'll just be patient and stay busy.  That's one thing I did accomplish this time around - I was a much better patient!

• renew my teaching license can start doing it on April 1 (AA should be in as of 4/24)

• arrive at hospital by 6:45 a.m.
