Saturday, May 9

11:25 a.m. - Late start to this entry because Amber wanted to run some errands, so I went with - Karrigan's, Central Pool, Aldi's, and HyVee.  Walking around Aldi's was a lot....maybe too much.  I need to chill out for awhile, so I'm elevating now to try to get swelling down...the futon works pretty well for this...I have a blanket on the floor with pillows under my head and my feet up on the futon.

I took a peek back at last year's progress after surgery, and it was 12 days before I attempted to drive.  I also went much longer with the hard pain killers.  As I thought, I'm way ahead of last year.  My first drive was yesterday to Illinois City Elementary, which was four days after surgery.  Keep in mind, driving is easier with the right leg strong.

This was my entry on April 28, 2025 - 12 days after surgery....

6:05 a.m. -   Yesterday was a good day.  Physically, I stayed off the narcotics pain killer, and I completed all of my exercises and was up and moving around quite a bit.  I also did a test drive and passed my self-test.  I drove to ICE and Casey's, and I was able to get in and out of the car well enough to make the decision to drive myself to my PT appointment today.

In the afternoon, Mr. Strachan came and helped me with the mower deck.  He got the deck off and cleaned it, and we determined that the only repair needed is the deck belt, which is good news.

The rest of the day was spent watching television and icing the leg.

Today is another PT appointment day.  I'm also going to try to get chlorine for the pool on the way home.  And then I'm hoping to make a surprise visit to ICE around 2 p.m.  Let's see how today goes.

Back to today...ISN'T THAT NUTS!  Oh, this recovery is much better!

The rest of the day is going to be rest mode for awhile...maybe I'll take a little walk outside since the weather is nice.
