4:55 a.m. - I pulled the trigger yesterday and purchased the new-to-me old SUV to replace driving the HHR. Of course I'm nervous, like I'm nervous every time I purchase something "big". I know it's really not "big" compared to what many other people do when buying a different car, but it's big to me. And the purchase has put a big dent into my working cash funds, so I'll be tightening my belt regarding spending and hoping that life doesn't throw me an unexpected expenses while doing so. Yesterday, we had our first day back to school, but it was just a teacher institute, and even that was cut short when staff was sent home due to a water line break at the new elementary construction site. So I used the extra couple of hours to get a jump on completing the purchase. With Amber's help, I went and picked up the Escape after getting the cashier's check from the bank, and then I spent some time at Milan Title completing the title transfer, and then I spent some time at Porter Hay getting some insurance coverage. Prior to making the trip to Milan Title, I also started the tear down process to the hot tub downstairs. There was a leak that had developed in the pump, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that. It looks like it might be possible to fix the pump, but that may be a bit of a project, so I'm going to hold off on that. Plus, replacing the pump would be nearly $300, so it's not good timing for that purchase just yet.
And today...it's back to school. This time, the students will be arriving. Plus, I need to get a physical for bus driving. Plus, after school, it's back to officiating basketball. It's going to be a long day.
