6:10 a.m. - It's Thursday!  It's garbage day!  I always have to remember to get the garbage out on Thursdays - the guys at Republic Services are always very punctual.  I met with Arda's mom yesterday at school.  She was very nice, and she gave me a beautiful gift of Turkish delights and "dishes" - they aren't just your average little cups...they are painted ornately and are a wonderful gesture.  Today at school will be a little blogger activity, and then students will be working on an activity designed to transition us from literature contributions of African slaves to contributions of indigenous Americans.  I'm interested to see what their views are about the topic, which is whether or not schools should eliminate the use of "indians" as a mascot.  Then tonight I have one game to officiate which is Moline at Alleman.  I get to work with a couple of guys I normally don't work with, and they are both veteran officials.  I think the Harrison crew might be at the house after school today, so I'll get to see them before heading out for the game.
