6:08 a.m. - The warm temps continue today and tomorrow, but it looks like colder temps and rain start to creep in towards the end of the week. Kevin Phelps even mentioned the possibility of snow over the weekend. While I'm obviously ready for the pandemic to be over, I'll take volleyball season in March instead of softball season - might as well embrace the few things that make this Spring better than other years, right? I didn't get as much schoolwork done yesterday as I could have, but I enjoyed a very lazy afternoon and slept pretty well last night. This is the last week of officiating basketball, and it will be a busy one with a mix of places and partners. The Big Ten Tourney is this week, and other tourneys are playing too, so I'll be watching basketball on television for the next month or so....another reason to enjoy this time of year. So today, I need to get that extra schoolwork done, which should be doable. Then it's off to Morrison for a girls game between Morrison and Orion. It's going to be a "competitive game", but I'll get to see Coach Stiles, so that will be nice. My left arm is just a little sore from Saturday's vaccination shot; my arm doesn't seem to hurt as badly as it did when I received the flu shot. One other comment about something unrelated to all of this - politics. Another stimulus package is expected to be passed and this one is expected to pass strictly along party lines. Getting things done - one way or the other - seems to now just be a result of which party wins which elections enough to get the majority number it needs to get something accomplished. Is this just the way things are going to go for the foreseeable future? Can't the parties work together to come up with solutions that both sides can support?
