Saturday, March 6

1:21 p.m. - Vaccine is in the arm.  Amber and I went up to school where Rock Island County and National Guard Members set up a vaccination distribution site in the North Gym.  Honestly, the "experience" itself was a bit unnerving.  I wondered what was like in similar situations in history as folks made their way to sites like that for other emergency situations.  Our District Superintendent was there the entire time, and he assisted me with my parents and uncle a little later in the day when the site was open to the public.   The event wasn't without it's main problem...all tickets were listed with an 8 a.m. start.  So well over 500 people could have been under the impression that they were going to get their shot at 8 a.m.   I have no doubt that some people waited over two hours to receive their vaccine, but I hope everyone understands that wasn't the fault of CUSD #300.  So now I'm home, and I'm going to take a shower, ice my knee, watch some basketball, and later today head off to my game to officiate at UTHS.  In between my vaccine efforts, Brinley and I played a little, and we read some books.  I also was able to hold little Luke for a few minutes, and that's always fun.

Holy Spirit...
Help me have...

    a heart of love, that I may serve;
    a heart of faith, that I may abide
