8:41 a.m. - Today, I'm going to run up and down the basketball court at the BettPlex after hopefully arriving safely in a car that has a bad tire after stopping at my parents' house to drop off some cookies and perhaps say hello to my brother if he's there. Then I'm going to come home and place the money I make into the group of other payments for officiating and Xmas that is then going to go into my checking account tomorrow - tomorrow that looks like a fairly light day when I thought perhaps that I would be officiating again. Also after arriving back after officiating, I hope to just relax and maybe watch some football because upon checking the listings, there doesn't appear to be much basketball on the schedule tonight.
So police are narrowing down to a suspect in the Nashville RV bombing, and it's looking more and more like someone (male age 63 from a suburb outside of Nashville) worked really hard to make a really big bomb and blow himself up on Christmas Day. There were reports of shots fired; I wonder if he shot himself before the bomb detonated. He then maybe didn't lure the police on purpose but instead set a timer and recording to blow the rest of himself up...in front of an ATT building...on Christmas. The whole thing made sense to this guy, and I'm sure the pieces will get all put together for an eventual potential motive. The guy definitely had a plan and some type of objective, but he didn't seem to want to hurt other innocent people. UPDATE....He reports are starting to emerge that he was an "IT guy" that apparently worked with electronics, internet, and alarm systems, so if these reports are correct, he would have had at least the tech skills to rig up some type of explosive device. Other reports have surfaced that his father had worked for Bell South (AT&T). He apparently didn't want to hurt people...he wanted to hurt AT&T, and apparently investigators are looking into whether or not he feared 5G capability and perhaps the "big brother" control that is often discussed as possibilities, especially with conspiracy theorists.
In other news unemployment benefits apparently ran out on a lot of people last night, and now the government is facing a shutdown if something isn't figured out tomorrow. This won't be the first shutdown of President Trump's presidency, and he didn't get much out of the last one. I wonder if he's going to return to Washington D.C. tomorrow or just stay in Florida and play some more golf.
SnowStar opened up yesterday, and Amber is already gone to work for her first day of the season. I'm hoping to get into the woods sometime tomorrow and try out my hiking shoes, but the weather forecast for today is a rain/snow mix, so I'm not sure how that's going to work out.
8:12 - I worked four high school games today, and it was tiring. It felt good to get out on the floor again. I am in pretty good shape as far as my wind/breath. I just wish the arthritis pain in the knee wouldn't start hurting so soon. I'm pretty good for the first game, but after that, it just starts hurting. I'm going to work a couple of games tomorrow and then six games on Tuesday...that's all good news...need the money.
