1:10 p.m. What a get-a-way weekend....here's what I put on a Facebook post.
Thanks to Amber Massey Bizarri, Tucker Quinn, and Carrie, Shawn Strachan, and Mary, Marcus Bush, and Noel for an awesome wrap-up to the 22-23 basketball officiating season. We had a grand adventure ... Air B&B in Dubuque...wine tasting on the way there, Diamond Jo Casino, then walk to a local establishment, then Pop Darts back at home base - probably going to have to get that game. Day 2 featured a tour at Potosi Brewing (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), a hiccup into our plans to Shullsburg (dang it), a stop at Leadmine for a "specialty beverage", and then back to Dubuque for a walk to a wrap-up sit down meal at a local Italian establishment. And breakfast both days with awesome ideas from the Strachans (mostly Mary). I never new omelettes could be made in a boiling "bucket" in plastic sandwich bags! That trip set the bar pretty high for anything scheduled for 23-24!
Now I'm we are back at home and unloaded everything. We did do a little grocery shopping on the way back. I'm not sure what the rest of the day is going to bring...we may be going to visit the Southwells, and I heard something about perhaps the Harrisons spending the night. I'll just roll with it. A nap sounds good, though. I did get a call that the softball game I had today has been postponed...thank goodness. It's too dang cold outside.
Things to do for school
- contact training path presenters
- work on research paper prompt
- Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
