6:00 a.m. - The boys basketball team didn't fair very well yesterday. The lost both games at the state finals. The first game they just didn't shoot very well and missed Landon Wheatley. The second game, they just didn't have enough gas and and players. And I'm glad we didn't go. I went to bed around 10:30, and the four 3rd and 4th place teams were on the floor awaiting to get their medals and trophies. My guess is that there were some spectators that didn't get out of there until 11:30, and then they had to drive home. I feel guilty not going to Champaign, but not so guilty as to put myself through that schedule and then have to get up and be at school today.
Yesterday was a day of laying around and watching basketball. I think I laid around so much my headache returned and my back hurts. I probably should have spent a little time on the treadmill and a little less time on the recliner.
I actually did do at least one thing productive....make it two things. I did put my basketball officiating stuff away and loaded the HHR with my softball equipment. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it takes about an hour or more to complete, and there are several trips up and down the basement stairs. Then after accomplishing that task, I went and visited with mom and dad. Then I went home and became a couch potato watching basketball.
Today will be interesting...attendance will be very low. I'm guess I will be reading my book quite a bit. I would like to make sure to watch Moline play today at 4:15.

- Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
