5:41 a.m. - And today right now the internet works. I can't figure it out. Today is cool again outside, but the weather is supposed to be summer-like for the extended forecast. We haven't been in the pool for awhile; maybe we'll be back in sometime this week before we close it up for good sometime next month. One thing we won't be doing is camping this weekend. I fear as the grandchildren get older, there will be more and more events for us to attend and our camping experiences will become fewer and fewer. I wonder if there will come a time that it just makes more sense to sell the camper.
Yesterday went fine, but the junior high volleyball experience at Muscatine was a challenge. There were six "reserve" sets - sets to 25 points or 8 minutes on the clock, whichever came first. The girls rarely got it back and forth over the net, so I found myself blowing the whistle a lot - to the point I got light headed a couple of times. Today it's back to high school matches on the Illinois side with Braeden. We are going to Monmouth-Roseville today.
I find myself wondering a lot about the quality of the EN101/102 courses we are offering our students from Black Hawk College. Maybe I'm just being me, though. The course is basically more of what I would consider a "correspondence course" than an online course. There just isn't much person-to-person instruction nor interaction between students and the instructor. I guess, though, if our students do well, and they have the opportunity to earn college credit, I just need to stay quiet and do my job.
Pay day is tomorrow, and this will be the new paychecks based upon the new collective bargaining agreement. I hope the members see a difference in their paychecks that they are pleased with.
