5:46 a.m. - The internet and computer are working again this morning - two days in a row - who would of thunk it?
Last night was a late one. Monmouth-Roseville and Orion had a great varsity battle that went down to the last set 25-23 to Orion. The gym was full and the atmosphere was energetic, giving the environment a regional tournament like atmosphere. Braeden, my officiating partner, knows the owner of the City Limits in Viola, so he called ahead an order of a calzone for each of us. I know I shouldn't eat a calzone after 9:00 p.m. at night, but dang it was good.
Yesterday was a bit of a tough day mentally on me...I have those days once in awhile. I needed the students to give their best on diagnostic tests through Khan Academy SAT prep, and I had several that obviously weren't giving their best. I know I'm not able to inspire all of them to give their best...they are teenagers, and I was a teenager once. I'm sure I didn't give my best in everything either. As I get older, though, and more experienced, that sort of thing tends to wear me down a bit. Oh well, I will try again today. We'll complete a little journal write and then give students time to finish the rest of the diagnostic quizzes. I do need to get some assignments scored and entered into Lumen. Perhaps today and tomorrow I can accomplish that.
One more night of officiating volleyball continues tonight at Kewanee. This will be the first time I've officiated volleyball there. I'll be with Braeden again, so that will at least be fun. I am ready for Friday to be here...I'm even more ready for Saturday to be here.
