Wednesday, June 3

6:11 a.m. - Yesterday we had two interviews at IC Elementary - one was good; one was really good.  Ms. Johnson and Mr. Goben joined me in the effort.  We have one more interview on Thursday, and it's possible I can have all the interviews wrapped up and the recommendations ready to be presented to the BOE at Monday's meeting.  After the work at IC Elementary, I got home and proceeded to continue the south yard reclamation project.  It was a battle, but I got the east-west ditch hacked down with the trimmer.  Now I only need to get the north-south ditch cleared, but it's a bigger battle, and that may not occur for a while.

Today, Mrs. Luebbe and Mrs. Stice will be visiting the building.  After I get done with my PT appointment at 8:40 today, I'll hustle out there and visit with them and work with them to continue settling into their new employment positions.

In one of yesterday's interviews, I learned more about having a Pre-K section in the building.  And I must admit that it sounds like it's going to be a challenge.  Basically, it seems like the goal is to take 15 area students who aren't ready for kindergarten and help them get ready.  I'm reminded of what it was like to work with wild, young horses in my earlier days.  It was often my job to work with the horses that were "green-broke".  It sounds like the young pre-schoolers may occasionally get just as physical.

Last night I watched some television after the weed project continuation, and Rosie and Tucker and Knox were here.  Amber had taken them to Weed Park to spend some time in the pool.  I think Grandma Rhonda went with them too.  On TV, I watched Game 1 of the NHL finals - featuring Carolina and Vegas.  It was a great game, and it should be a great series.  Tonight is game one of the NBA finals, which should also be a great series between the Knicks and the Spurs.  Tomorrow the Hoenigs are arriving; I don't yet know when.
