5:19 a.m. - It's here! March 21 is here! We just need to get through today, and then Spring Break is here! Oh what a glorious day!
I survived yesterday, and that was no small task, as the day featured an admin meeting in the morning. It didn't run as long as past meetings, and I focused on keeping my mouth shut in such a fashion that I don't think I upset anyone. Then I had to have conversations with folks that "wanted a second". At the end of the day, something new happened - we had a neighborhood dog visit us. Later finding out that the golden retriever's name was Ranger, Ranger was a very happy, friendly dog that rather enjoyed coming into my office until we found out who he belonged to. Sheesh. Also during the day yesterday, I was able to keep the NCAA tournament rolling on one of my computer screens, so that was good. The big upset of the day was McNeese State, and I picked them to win, so that's good.
Today...nothing is specifically listed on the "to-do list", and I've heard several students express that they are not going to be at school. So it's going to be a day that will be an "adventure". I can confidently say that I'm sure there will be surprises; the question is whether they will be good surprises or bad surprises. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I do have a softball game scheduled at Sherrard, and it appears like the weather is going to cooperate, which I'm not necessarily happy with.
In other news, President Trump is shutting down the Department of Education. Every day with him as president is a shit show. He actually had the audacity to have elementary age students around him as he signed an executive order that will send chaos, confusion, and stress throughout the country's educational system. Everything with that guy is a show! He's such a freaking joke, and the majority of voters in the United States voted for this moron in the last election...it just seems so surreal to me...I keep thinking this is how Germans must have felt during the time period that Hitler rose to power. The only question is how far this idiot will get before (or perhaps if) enough people get tired enough of it.
