6:59 a.m. - Yesterday featured data day meetings morning long. And the more answers I seem to wrap my brain around, the more questions I seem to have. The one thing that I seem to figure out is that genuine teacher feedback for new curriculum is window dressing. It really pisses me off that AES was already using I-Ready Math for a math assessment, which means that we were always going to have I-Ready Math for the new curriculum, which means all this meeting stuff and information gathering stuff was pretty much pointless because we were always going to go with I-Ready Math anyway. If there is something that veteran educators hate, it's being asked to contribute thoughts, time, and effort into something that has already been decided. I just have to remember to keep my head down, control what I can control, and then move forward, and then retire.
Yesterday afternoon went okay too. I did the Hokey-Pokey and the Chicken Dance outside with students because they were only allowed outside recess on the blacktop, and that's not much space for 109 K,1,2 students.
So today is Saturday...Championship Saturday...I'm going to watch IHSA girls basketball all day long. I might actually work on my leg too. The weather is supposed to warm up, so maybe I'll get outside and try to go on a long walk. I think I'll try to change out my basketball and softball stuff too. Not sure how much softball I will do. Oh, I need to see if I have any softball pants that will fit. I need to take the IHSA test too. Maybe I'll do that now.
President Trump is an idiot...tariffs or no tariffs...Elon Musk or no Elon musk...free press or no free press...Ukraine or Russia....he's a total idiot. All these wonderful things he was supposed to do on day one of his presidency....according to media reports I've seen, he's significantly decreased the number of border crossings. I hope the money and the efforts that are being made to stop all the heathens attempting to cross the border into the U.S. is worth all the other things that is part of his dysfunctional leadership.
