5:31 a.m. - The work week is back, but I did get a day yesterday that I needed. First, I got to shovel some snow! It wasn't a bad little snow...probably a little more than three inches. Then, I jumped in the inflatable hot tub, and it was really nice - soaking in the hot water with the bubbles and the steam and the snowflakes coming down. It was everything I had hoped it would be. Darren and Misti left around 10 a.m., so we chit-chatted with them for a little while before they left. After that, I got my officiating gear all ready to go and did a couple of other little things around the house. At 12:30 I started getting ready to head over to the school and help Braeden, Tony, and Shawn with their promotion tests for officiating basketball. We went 3-for-3, as all three successfully passed their tests. I'm glad we had the four of us and Randy all there to put our brains together and think about all those questions. Too many times, one little word can be misinterpreted to cause a wrong answer. We missed four on Tony's test, two on Braeden's test, and none on Shawn's test. Maybe next year we can get Marcus through. I think it was about 5 p.m. when I got home, and the rest of the night was spent on the couch watching the Hallmark Channel. There was a good one last night that I really enjoyed.
Today, I just want to keep things simple as we get back in the groove. I'm going to have a journal write and share and then with time that I have left, I'm going to share the opening chapter of Diary of a Part-Time Indian. I do need to score and enter scores of an assignment that was due over break, but I have time for that. And then after school I'm off to Morrison by myself to officiate Morrison girls...ugh. That is not a great way to start off the new week, but that's the job, so off I will go.
One thing I need to do is start thinking about Christmas shopping. I don't want to wait until December 22nd to start that job. All that officiating did help prop up my ailing cash flow, so at least I have that going for me. Unfortunately, my experience has been in life that when there is a little buffer of cash flow, then something breaks. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
