6:19 a.m. - Yesterday, only a few students decided to take an opportunity to practice their presentations, which means they will not be very strong today. Today won't be fun. Speaking of not fun...last night's game wasn't fun between Geneseo and Alleman. Geneseo wanted to be physical and get under the skin of Alleman. And they did get under Alleman's skin, and Alleman didn't react very well. And then when Alleman didn't react very well, Geneseo wanted to "cry foul"....pretty much the entire game. This scenario is usually very challenging to officiate. And Geneseo's coach whines a lot...whining is really something that is not technical foul worthy, but eventually it gets on the edge. The coach is passionate and enjoys the game, but when someone is whining constantly, the information he or she is attempting to share just becomes noise. Then I saw myself on television working the game, and I look too fat. I don't enjoy seeing myself look overweight and fat. I honestly don't feel all that bad...I just look bad.
Today the cheerleaders are at state. Many students will be taking the day off from school to go view the performance; many others just won't be showing up. Tonight we officiate at Davenport West...they take on Davenport North...yes, this will also be a not very fun game to officiate. Last night we earned our money; tonight we will earn our money.
