6:02 a.m. - Tucker and Rosie spent the night last night, and I didn't sleep very well. The restless night wasn't because of them - I just ate too much snack food yesterday at Rhonda's and Jack's while watching the Super Bowl. The game was a good one - the Eagle lost a close game to the Chiefs. Marcus wasn't happy about a call that was made late in the game...it was a bit of a "cheap call", but the Chiefs were the better team in the second half.
Today is "in the air" at school and after school. And the weather is going to be weird this week - beautiful and 50 degrees today, rain tomorrow and dropping temperatures toward the end of the week, snow on Thursday, and then back to mild temperatures this week. Spring must be getting closer and closer.
Things to do for school
- remind students about EN102 check in day on Thursday
- Feb. 17 - dentist appointment - get sub plans ready - Mr. Hyett
- print rubrics for presentations (25)
- print copies of the spirituals selected by the students
- Make lesson plans for the week
- figure out Friday check-in day - changing to Thursday, Feb. 16
- review presentation plans and enter scores
- work on research paper prompt
- Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
