5:32 a.m. - Yesterday was packed. I made breakfast on the Blackstone, then went and visited Chase in jail, which really wasn't a visit, but I did talk with him. After that I went to church and went to a service for the first time with Pastor Nick - the new pastor at RUMC. Nick is no Paul. Then I went back to Aledo and visited with Bill because I hadn't seen him since Carmen's wedding reception in June. I may have made a mistake in giving him my phone number...he tried to call twice last night. I will try to call him back today. After that visit I came back home and discovered that we weren't going to have a visit from the grandchildren, so seeing the heat forecast for the week, I decided to try to get the two loads of hay in the barn at mom and dad's farm. I was able to get Joey from down the street to help me and after about three hours, we got the job done. Upon arriving back home, I discovered that not only did we have visitors after all, but we had more visitors than expected. After getting a turtle out of the pool - a first for me - never have I seen a snapping turtle in our pool, I cooked hamburgers and hotdogs on the Blackstone. I didn't pick up the Blackstone nor any of the chairs or things from the backyard because it wasn't supposed to rain last night - WRONG. About 1:30 a.m., here comes a storm, but radar suggested it would stay north, so I didn't need to worry about rushing out and getting the items - WRONG. About a half hour later we had a complete thunderstorm. Upon inspection today, everything seems to be okay...I'll put that stuff away later today. Right now, though, I'm up early because I have a dentist appointment at 7 a.m. I really don't like dentist appointments, but I struggle through it twice a year for a check-up and cleaning. After that, I will run to the farm to take care of animals and then head to Shawn's and take care of his place. After that, I really don't know. Tomorrow, I'm planning a drive to see Carmen and Tyler.
11:22 a.m. update - The bad news is that the camper water damage isn't covered. He made some suggestions about what I could do now...he thinks there may be a crack on the vinyl covering. I'll be working on caulking the roof soon; maybe I'll start on it later today or wait until later in the week. There's a leak....there isn't damage...that's the difference from being covered to not being covered. Is it wrong for me to potentially hope for a tree limb to strategically fall during our next camping weekend? Prior to that news, I got my dentist appointment in...yuck. There aren't many things I truly dislike and make me truly uncomfortable...that's one of them. After that appointment I stopped at the farm and stopped at Shawn's and took care of my morning chores.
