Saturday, September 12

8:57 p.m. - Cubs win!  4 runs in the top of the ninth and then Kimbrel held the Brewers off in the bottom to finish off the improbable come-from-behind victory.  That kind of capped off a pretty good day.  I spent the morning working on lesson plans for the week and figured a few things out.  I got a nice walk and light lift in while watching Notre Dame football beat Duke.  At halftime, I cooked up some brats I had boiled in beer, onions, and butter earlier in the day, which included a pepper mixture that I had prepared and cooked up to go along with the brats.  I also have been reading some of my book, and I plan to do that tomorrow as well.  So while it pretty much was a damp, yucky weather day, it was a good day inside to get things done and relax a little.  Tomorrow, I'd like to see about mowing the yard and see if the pool motor will fire up.  It wouldn't run today, but sometimes that happens for some reason when the ground is wet from rain.
