4:26 a.m. - I woke up around 4 a.m. and couldn't sleep, so I just decided to get up. I have too many things I need to accomplish today, so starting the day early is a good idea.
Yesterday was productive. I rode my bike to school and back again. And yesterday's ride included the new mirror I bought, as well as the pack that was installed on the bike that Amber purchased for me for my birthday. The mirror helps a lot, and the pack is big enough to fit some items in. I don't think this will be a situation that I will ride my bike regularly to school or anything like that, but maybe I'll do it some more this summer. At school, I was able to get some important things done. I had conversations with Mrs. Luebbe and Mrs. Gilson, as they stopped in the building, and I worked on the shipment of CKLA materials that arrived via UPS. Finally, I made calls to the candidates we had interviewed the previous day. The candidate that was offered the position accepted, so that's good news.
After getting home I tried to get some additional yard work done. And I did. I finished off the back lot weeds, including knocking down the weeds for my neighbors to the south that butt up to our property. The motorized sickle performed perfectly again. Then I used the Stihl to finish off the west-east ditch to whack those weeds. It was hot, but I got those things done. Unfortunately, I discovered that I've got a mower deck belt again that is weekend. I'm not sure it will last today to mow the yard. I've got an extra belt, but I would really like to find out what is causing the situation of chewed up belts, and I really don't want to take the time to change the belt today because I've got other things I need to accomplish.
After yard work, I went with Amber and Rhonda to view Karrigan's ultrasound. It's amazing how times are a changing. Basically there is a business in Bettendorf that performs an ultrasound "viewing" and provides pictures and even a stuffed animal that has the baby's actual heart beat. I'm not sure what something like that costs, but I was impressed with the business model. We were supposed to look away when the technician/owner possibly was showing boy/girl parts, and I really couldn't tell most of the time what I was looking at, but just looking at Baby Lees face caused me to think that the baby is a boy. Of course I really don't know, but that's my thinking. After the viewing, we went and had supper at Chick-fil-la. After that, we stopped at Bally's and played slots...we didn't win.
And on to today. I know Caleb is coming to swim, so I need to get as much done as possible before and/or after he arrives. I really don't know what time he'll arrive, but my guess is around lunch time sometime. I've made a list for myself - a pretty healthy list.
