5:48 a.m. - The highlight of last night, I believe, was that I don't have any more Iowa volleyball officiating. That's nice. Yesterday was a productive day. I did get some direction on my instruction for the week; I'm going with our first formal essay with the Columbus Day / Indigenous People's Day prompt as the backdrop. I also got started on scoring the John Smith assignments from last week. That's going to be a big job.
My legs are still sore, but I did get into the hot tub before bed, and that helped loosen them up. I think I'm going to run out there this morning for another session. Today will be another grind, and it will be a busy one. Students are usually not receptive to writing instruction, so I have to put on my happy face and do my best. Later today it's volleyball at Erie with Ms. Peterson. After this match, I'll have three IHSA volleyball matches left. I'm ready for volleyball to be over and just focus on basketball.
Things for School
- enter participation scores for reading prompts
- enter participation scores for expressing opinion of Columbus/Indigenous Day
- Encourage PSAT students to take a practice test through Bluebook on their Chromebooks
- You must sign in.
- Select PSAT NMSQT
- Time starts when you begin.
- Under triple dots....save and exit...timer stops and work is saved...
- 4 practice tests in Bluebook? I haven't verified that yet.
- starts with module 1 R&W (27 questions)
- Can retake practice tests? I think so.
- If a student notices that their exam questions are getting easier rather than harder, they might think that they’re doing poorly on the exam and become more focused on how they’re performing than on doing their best. In general, the stress of not knowing how challenging the next part of the exam will be could increase test overall anxiety.
- make lesson plan for 10-4
- score and enter John Smith assignments
