5:44 a.m. - November is here...wow. And Halloween was sure a productive day. I was able to get a ton of schoolwork done, but that makes sense since English III students were required to view internet safety training. And the afternoon's professional development training wasn't all that exciting, but to be honest, at my age it's challenging to find professional development training that would truly energize and motivate me. I managed to stay busy and work on other things to make the afternoon still productive. After school Amber and I went to the local restaurant and had an early supper because she had to go watch Luke while I handed out candy to trick or treaters at our house. Unlike the last few years, I would guess we had about twenty trick or treaters visit the house. So I watched television until 8 p.m. and kept my eye open for the ghosts and goblins, then I turned off the porch light, enjoyed a little candy from the stash, and proceeded to take my IHSA basketball officiating test, which got me a score of 100%! With all the testing a video viewing completed for Illinois and Iowa now, it's back to officiating basketball today at Washington Junior High.
And a mixed bag of a day it will be. First, the weather is going to be fantastic...temps in the 70's...geez it would have been nice to keep the camper out. I'm not regretting the decision to winterize and store, though, because this weekend's forecast is calling for a lot of rain. I'm only going to be at school through fourth period, as I have to meet Amber to finalize/close refinancing on our house. And then I'm headed to officiate basketball. With a 4 p.m. start, though, I shouldn't get home too late, and I'm hearing that the Harrison grandchildren may be here when I get back. If you glance below, you'll see that on the agenda today is to go ahead and win $1 billion through the Powerball. No one has shown up at my door yet, so maybe they are coming later.
This week is going to be busy for the four days of the week. Students have a quiz, a test, and we need to talk about their recent essays.
