5:14 a.m. - I woke up early today and couldn't really get back to sleep very well. It's Cyber Monday, but I don't see myself doing a lot of online shopping today. I do need to get a start on my Christmas shopping work, though.
The Thanksgiving break went way too fast, but all good things must indeed come to an end. It's back to school, then, and today I and the students likely will be a little groggy in getting back to the grind. We have three weeks of school before semester exams, so I have a few things I'd like to accomplish with the students. I think we are going to go with the film Smoke Signals starting today, and then either the essay assignment or the speech presentation assignment. I'm just not sure which order just yet.
The officiating schedule is lighter this week than last week. Plus, the crew I'm working with settles down a bit after all the different officials I've been working with to start the season's first two weeks. The schedule has all familiar territory and partners, and looking ahead to Saturday, we have our first "shot clock game" in Iowa on Saturday afternoon.
One thing we don't have is snow. The weather has been very mild recently, and a quick peek at the weather today showed that today and tomorrow will continue the mild temps streak.
