Friday, November 11 - Remembering Veterans Day

5:52 - Honestly, most Veterans Day I'm humbled but admittedly a little lost in my feelings.  I'm not a military person, and my family is not a military family.  Basically I admire and respect from the distance that exists, I guess.  I can only imagine how those family's must feel, the pride for their loved ones involvement and the heartache mixed with the pride for loved ones that have been lost.  May they feel blessed and honored by all of us today and every day even though some of us like me can only guess at the feelings in their hearts.

There is an event at school today, but then there is some type of send off for the pep band, and I have other students that have explained they won't be in attendance.  Plus the weather did an about face over night with temps today in the 20's.  Not to mention those things, the football team has a big playoff game tomorrow.  I have a feeling today is going to be a weird day.  With that in mind, my lesson plan is fairly simple.  The Public Speaking students are going to take a quiz and then watch the assembly.  The English III students are going to have a text passage from an Indigenous People author with SAT style questions that is due Monday.  Unfortunately, that means many students will mismanage their time.

Tonight, Shawn and I will head to Monmouth-Roseville for a girls basketball scrimmage, and then we are going to have some ribs for supper.  Tomorrow, I'm headed to Jordan Catholic School to officiate a seventh grade boys tournament.  I hope I don't end up regretting that decision, but I fear I just might.

Last night we ended up not going to Williamsfield, so the legs got a night off.  Tucker and Rosie and Kourtney came over, and we had some supper.  We also watch some Cocomelon together.  I watch a lot of that show when the grandchildren visit.  Okay....let's get through the day, have a nice supper, trudge through some youth basketball officiating tomorrow, and get to tomorrow afternoon.
