5:58 a.m. - Yesterday was a fairly quiet day. I was at ICE for most of the day, and I accomplished some things. Then Amber and I needed to take Brooklyn to her game in North Henderson. I hadn't been there in a long time. She played well; her team won, and then it was back home. I spent the rest of the evening watching the coverage of the unrest in Los Angeles. The illegal immigration thing continues to be a problem. President Trump's efforts include continued rounding up of undocumented illegal immigrants. On paper, it makes sense. If a person is not in the country legally, he/she is breaking the law. On the other hand, if that person really isn't causing any additional problems, removing that person causes issues that may not be worth the effort of removing that person. So the question is....how do we locate illegal immigrants and correct the problem without causing unreasonable harm to families and communities? It's not a new problem, and there isn't an easy answer. ICE raids have caused anger and frustration in L.A., and now President Trump has ordered national guard and marines to California. This is the same president that didn't have any problem with the U.S. Capital getting raided and looted with law enforcement officers hurt; in fact he pardoned all of those folks who did that. So it's with no credibility that President Trump and his administration criticizes anyone who protests in frustration and anger. I don't believe people should be allowed to create havoc and damage property in protests, but this administration is in no position to be critical. This administration condoned the Jan. 6 riot.
In other news, I need to get a good candidate hired for our health aide opening. I thought I had a good candidate, but that didn't work out.
