6:18 a.m. - Yesterday was a good day with Caleb, Carmen, and Tyler with a one hiccup. Amber and I got in a little walk before Carmen and Caleb woke up, so after they came upstairs we made some pancakes on the Blackstone. Then after breakfast Amber left for a baseball game and that left Caleb, Carmen, and me while Tyler was on his way. Somehow, the door to the basement was opened, and Caleb made his way without Carmen nor I realizing it. Carmen went to check on him, and just about was to him, when down he went...ugh. According to Carmen he rolled all the way down and I heard her scream and run after him. I went to check on both of them, and the whole event rattled mom more than son. Se did have a red scrape and a bruise on his head, but he seemed okay. In fact, he stopped crying much sooner than mom did. It was definitely scary, but I tried to reassure Carmen that babies his age bounce very well. The rest of the day was much better for little Caleb. He got into a pool for the first time, and he enjoyed it with his mom and dad. He did get tired and even napped with dad on a floaty in the pool. Eventually we all had some supper in the afternoon, and then spent time inside playing with toys. A second nap occurred around 5 p.m., and I got to help him with that nap. Tyler left for home, and Carmen and Caleb packed up to head over to Grandma Sue's house in Sherrard. Caleb is such a good child and so full of energy and expression. It was wonderful to have him here. Also, there were lots of folks here - the Harrisons, the Southwells, Grandma Cathy...everybody had fun. I wish we could have days like that every weekend!
What is today going to bring? I think Brinley has a game we are going to attend. I'm not sure, though, what else we will be doing.
