5:40 a.m. - I was previously told that Halloween was a big deal at ICE, and that was true. The staff really went all out for the students to have a fun day. I hope they are ready to go back to work today. Each week I get to Friday, and each week it seems like a great deal has been accomplished for the week. I'd kind of like today to go smoothly and quiet; I wonder if that will happen. I do hope that Mr. Willard and the J.L. Brady crew were able to get the boilers going.
I don't have much yet on the "to-do list" for the day other than a service tech to be in the building working on our fire alarm system. I've discovered, though, that no day at ICE is routine. Something will occur. Yesterday even after the Halloween extravaganza, we had an injury on the playground that featured a really good split above an eye of a student. He had had his mask on and was running around and fell on a hard piece of playground equipment.
I tried to fix the mower after school today, but I am struggling with it. I think I need a one inch wrench to get a bolt apart that will allow me to get the job done. I'm going to try to secure one of those tomorrow - I think my folks probably have some big wrenches somewhere.
The reason for the title of "holiday season" is because apparently now at ICE, it's Christmas time. Bring on the next adventure!
