5:41 a.m. - Last night was worrisome. Two games a night is really going to wear on officials. I noticed our crew not being at our best for the fresh-soph game. At halftime of the varsity game, I quickly chatted with a former coach, and he thanked me because he said many officials aren't really working very hard. Are they not working very hard, or are they saving themselves because of all the games they are working? Are they not working very hard, or are they just tired - physically and/or mentally from working so many games? I fear there is going to be an even worse crisis as fans become less patient and officials become more tired. I talked last night with Marcus at how we are going to have to do a better job in the fresh-soph game in order to have a better tone for the varsity game.
At school we finished up the film Smoke Signals. Now of course students are complaining about not being able to view it because of absence. Today is going to be more work for me, but that's okay - hopefully that will make the day go faster.
I think the temps are supposed to be better today; maybe I'll take a walk outside this morning before school.
