4:29 a.m. - Yesterday was A DAY. Shawn and George helped me get through a volleyball officiating promotion test. Then I came home and worked on mowing the yard. It stupid hot out, but I got it started. I took a break to cool down and watch the Bears. The Bears SUCK. They gave up over 50 points to the Lions. It's going to be a long season for the Bears, as once again they prove that a good offensive line is pretty important.
So because the Bears didn't need me to watch them get destroyed, I went back to mowing the yard. I did try to also get some work into taking down weeds at the Medranos, but that did workout well, because their place is still pretty wet. I used the motorized weed sickle, and I got my yard finished. I wasn't sure it was going to work again, but it did. It was a lot easier on my lawn mower by using the sickle to chop the weeds down first.
After the yard was finished, I picked up Josiah (and Izan) and went to the farm to help load hay in the loft of the barn. Again, it was really hot. We got two racks loaded - about 170 bales according to mom. It was a crap job, but Josiah did fine, and we knocked it out in a couple of hours. When I got home, I jumped in the pool, and it felt great. I ended the night watching some Sunday Night Football, but I didn't last very long. I went to bed just before 9 p.m.
During the day, I got a message that we would be having 1:30 dismissal days today and tomorrow due to the heat. That will mess things up at school, but we'll adjust and get through it. I think I will go with shorts and a polo today to try to stay cool. Or because we have a BOE meeting tonight, maybe I'll dress up. It is pay day today at least, even if its going to be a long day again.
This weekend didn't feature a lot of relaxation, but I did get to spend time with a lot of kids and grandkids, and I got a lot done for others. Plus, I did get the yard done.
I am looking at the weekend weather to see if some camping might be possible.
