6:54 a.m. - I stayed in the camper again last night....it was beautiful out but cold, so I had a campfire. I did talk with the only other campers in the campground; they were from Wisconsin, and they are pulling out today. I think that means I may have the campground for myself for a couple of days. This morning I came home, and Amber surprised me with a new chair...it's got all kinds of bells and whistles and will be very helpful for surgery recovery. It was very thoughtful of her, and it took a lot of work to get it loaded up and brought to the house without me knowing.
Yesterday I started the day at the ORA clinic where my surgeon basically hurriedly rushed me through the motions of what he needed to tell me - basically to tell me what he was going to do and what the results would and would likely not be. He always calls me Jim, and I've given up trying to correct him. I hope he's good, and he does but on the good bedside manners in the 15 minutes he sees me each time, but he doesn't know me. I'm just another guy with knee problems. I used to feel like Eye Surgeons was the Walmart of eye care. I'm beginning to think ORA is the Walmart of orthopedic care. No one told me I had to pay some money yesterday, so on the way home, I transferred some money, wrote a check, and put it in the mailbox. I'll be glad when all this stuff is over.
Today is going to be a scramble - meeting at UTHS, back to ICE and a student council meeting at 2 p.m., back home and then to the visitation for Uncle Bill in Reynolds.
