7:20 a.m. - Late start to my day today after a long day yesterday. Today, I'm headed to ORA to have my knee examined and hopefully receive a cortisone shot. I'm guessing I'll get suggestions for what to do with the knee after the shot, but I'll stay open minded and listen to those suggestions when they come. Of course, I can't just go get a shot. I have to go through all the x-rays and who knows what else in order to get the shot. I'm going now because it's the soonest I could get into someone to get this done.
Yesterday...whew. I successfully completed the bus driving tests. I don't know how close I was to failing, but I don't care. I started the day riding with Jesi Housby, and on the route, I witnessed someone drive pass the stop sign indicator on the bus. Then after returning from the route at the high school, we headed to the DMV in Silvis. I completed the pre-trip, so I was moved on to the skills test. Then I completed the skills test, and then I completed the route driving test. Fortunately, I believe I received a couple of "helpful" staff members who worked me through the tests. I took all the help I could get. After receiving my temporary license, I took Jesi out for lunch at Applebee's on the way home to thank her. Then it was on to the office at ICE, which unfortunately wasn't exactly uneventful. I got through the afternoon, and then I headed to a meeting at the high school involving the hiring process for a new principal. After that I went home for a bite to eat, and then it was back to the high school library for a BOE meeting. I was hoping it was going to be a short one....it wasn't. I think I was home by 9-9:30. And then Amber got sick. I think she got that Noravirus thing, so she's staying home today.
I'm looking forward to finding out more information about my knee, and then I need to get back to the ICE office and get some work done. Then it's off to Geneseo for a boys basketball game - at least it's only one game.
