7:41 a.m. - It's cold outside! It's even going to be colder tomorrow!
Yesterday went as planned and was a nice day. I went to church service with Amber and then I went to Fort Madison to see the Hoenigs. On my way I got a haircut, some Jimmy Johns sandwiches, some root beer, and some gas in the truck before heading on to see Caleb, Carmen, and Tyler. And the Hoenigs are doing well. Caleb and I had some time together, and I even performed my specialty and had a nap with him! I got back a little later that I had planned, but that worked out too. Amber had made some supper, so I had some pot roast, watched some football, and then called it a night.
And today is inauguration day of our 47th president. It's also MLK Day, and I think I'll focus on it being MLK Day because the 47th president thing is just depressing. Publicly, though, I'm going to try my best to hold my tongue. Even on Saturday when an official was in our dressing room talking about his love for the 47th president, I was able to just shut my mouth. I was dumbfounded, but I did keep my mouth shut.
Later today, Shawn, Marcus, and I have a game to officiate in Sterling. It will be fun, featuring to big school teams that we have never seen - Joliet Catholic and Nequa Valley. I hope we get to hustle home, so I can watch the Notre Dame game. I just want the Irish to make a game of it. This morning before all that happens, I think I'm taking Amber out to the casino. Perhaps before that, I'll get a little workout in downstairs in the basement.
