6:21 a.m. - I need a Christmas miracle. I need my son Chase to find the strength and determination he has inside of him to cast off his drug addiction issues. It's a battle, and I fear I won't ever see him again. He didn't make it to our Christmas yesterday, and while it was wonderful seeing Tyler, Carmen, Cole, Mom, and Dad....there was a place missing...there were gifts left unwrapped...there was a hole. After I took Cole home last night, it was tough driving back....all the regrets...all the worries...all the memories...all the "what ifs" came spilling into the car like the rain that was continuing to fall. It was tough.
Today I hope to set my personal struggles aside and be present for Amber and all the things she needs to get done for Christmas tomorrow with the Kiddoo kids and grandkids.
