5:48 a.m. - Today I didn't have to wake up to an alarm. Okay, most days I wake up before Amber's alarm goes off anyway, but the point is that I didn't have to wake up to an alarm. Of course, I was awake before it was even close to alarm time, but that's just because I'm old and really can't sleep in anymore. The point is that the 20-21 school year is over and summer has begun! So of course what that means for me is my "alternative summer job", which consists of maintenance of my yard and house. Because today's weather is going to be calmer and cooler than upcoming days, I think I'll go with mowing the yard and tackling some weeds. I purchased some preen to spread over the rocks in the landscaping, and I purchased a new sprayer to tackle some Round-Up areas I want to work on. I also think I'll work on tackling the mowing of the yard too. All of that will begin later this morning, so I think I will head over to my parents house and visit with them a bit while I'm waiting for the morning dew to dry off.
I think that damn rabbit came back last night to munch on my flower bed. I woke up to find Bella the cat very interested in looking out the window. It was still before sunset, so I couldn't see really well outside, but I'm pretty sure I saw Mr. Bunny casually eating on my petunias - wascally wabbit is going to tick me off if he keeps coming back to eat the flowers.
Later today I'm heading to Kewanee again for a regional championship game - Kewanee vs. Monmouth-Roseville. I don't think it's going to be much of a game, but maybe MonRose can pull off another upset like they did last night against Orion.
