5:19 a.m. - I'm up early to watch granddogs while Amber goes to a workout.  I can't even watch the news because there are severe thunderstorms in the area, but now east of us.  Apparently there was a lot of rain with this, which puts this afternoon's softball game in jeopardy once again.  Yesterday we had an early dismissal for potential storms that never materialized in our school district that I know of.  There appeared to be some bad stuff south of us.  Amber and I went to Brinley's birthday party in Joy, and just as we were leaving around 6:30, we had some raindrops, but that was it.  

Today because of the cancellation of the Black Hawk College rep, I'll have free read Wednesday.  And then maybe go to Galesburg...or maybe get the camper out?  That may depend on the weather, which is supposed to be cool and breezy but a little calmer than the past few days.  I'm a little bummed that the BHC rep can't make it since it's a local path for our students, but at least we were able to view the BHC East rep yesterday.

Things to do for school

• check into costs of Fahrenheit 451 graphic novels
• work on research paper prompt
• Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
