7:12 a.m - I made it through my game at Pleasant Valley last night.  I wore a special knee brace that a friend of mine recommended a couple of years ago and that helps.  I wasn't 100%, but I was much better than last Tuesday, so the days off helped.  Looking at my schedule this week, though, has me worried.  I could really use the extra cash, but I need to do everything I can to keep my back and legs healthy.  This morning I have some little things to complete - here around the house, and I'm also having a virtual meeting with a student to talk about ways he could improve his test taking skills.

Things that I NOW think about with the coronavirus. (2/7)
Iowa is rolling back all restrictions for masking and social distancing.  Last night we went to Ducky's and no one was wearing a mask - not even staff.  The news about increased vaccinations seems to be positive, even though I haven't had a vaccine yet.  I got a big list of students being quarantined due to contact tracing of a positive case in one of my classes.  I think everyone wants to return to normal, and all the numbers now locally, statewide, and nationally seem to be decreasing.  I'm not sure if it's time to roll everything back like Iowa, but there seems to be a feeling in many people that the pandemic is over.  The thing about the vaccine that I continue to hear is that scientists aren't sure if the vaccine prevents infection or shedding.  As far as I understand, the vaccine is just supposed to help decrease negative effects of the virus - basically the vaccine keeps most folks from serious consequences or death.

Holy Spirit...
Help me have...
    a pure heart, that I may see;
    a humble heart, that I may hear;
    a heart of love, that I may serve;
    a heart of faith, that I may abide in the spirit.
