Friday, Nov. 6

5:54 a.m. - It's Friday.  There is still no President election final result; there is still a surge of COVID 19 cases; I learned yesterday that a good friend of mine contracted the virus, and I'm worried about him; the weather is crazy warm as temps are forecasted to be in mid-70's.  And Monday, we are still scheduled to go to in-person learning for everyone, except students that are going full remote.   Some local bars and restaurants are ignoring the state's order to only serve outdoors.  The IHSA and some schools are ignoring the state's order to play basketball in the Spring rather beginning in mid-November.  Yes, these are crazy, wacky, scary times.

Things that I NOW think about with the coronavirus. (11/6)
277 new cases of COVID 19 were reported for Rock Island County today.   Last Thursday, the number of new cases was 90.  With that in mind, today, there were three times the new cases in the county versus eight days ago.  Good grief.

Thursday, Nov. 5

6:45 a.m. - Still don't have a determination on the election of the president yet.  States that are still counting include Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina.  Maybe more results will be revealed today.  President Trump has filed lawsuits and requested a recount in at least one state; I have a hard time believing that he's feeling good about his chances if he is taking those measures.

Things that I NOW think about with the coronavirus. (11/5)
According to news reports, some businesses - particularly restaurants and bats - will not be following the mandate of further restrictions.  I really can't blame them seeing as how the school district really isn't following the mandates, nor is the IHSA really following the mandates.  Basically, we as a society are going to move along and ignore the mandates and hope for the best.  I wonder what the determining factor is?  How bad do things have to get?  Where is the "line in the sand"?

Wednesday, November 4

6:01 a.m. - Unfortunately, the election doesn't look promising for me.  It doesn't appear that President Trump will be defeated, and it doesn't appear that Republicans will lose control of the Senate.  There are still five states that are counting ballots, and even if President Trump again loses the popular vote, it appears that 2016 will be a repeat, and he will be reelected to another term.  I am saddened.  Today it's back to school, and it might be back to the farm to work on winterizing the camper.  We are experiencing unusually warm weather, so I might be checking out YouTube again to do some self-training and then figure out how to winterize it.  Yesterday I got a lot of stuff done, which unfortunately was expensive.  Man I hope that basketball is able to be played safely, so I can then get some work in and earn some extra cash.

12:14 p.m. - Things have changed in the past six hours.  The news regarding gains that Biden is making is almost surreal.  I wonder where this will end up.
