6:09 a.m. - While watching the morning weather segment this morning, I became very glad that we didn't challenge Mother Nature today. My decision not to go camping this weekend was a good one. The radar is lit up right now with all sorts of colors indicating heavy rain and thunderstorms, and it's supposed to last all day into tomorrow. So today I'll head off to help with the church breakfast and take a raincoat with me. Then I may just sit in the camper in the rain and watch the Bears game. Then I think Amber and I are going to the casino with Jack and Rhonda. In between there somewhere I need to get some schoolwork done.
Yesterday I got a few things done, but mostly I spent time with family - all the grandkids, the step-daughters, the in-laws, and my mom and Chase. It was so nice to get to see Chase. We roasted some hot dogs on the fire in the backyard, and I made him some of my famous smores.
