Today..."pull-out" day at Loud Thunder. Amber and I took our time, so we had breakfast with Shawn and then started cleaning up the camper and then brought it home. He was smarter than me and hooked up when it wasn't raining, but I didn't want to wake up Amber. So I hooked up and pulled out in a steady rain. When I got the trailer home, I decided to make lemonade out of lemons, so I took my scrub brush to the camper in the rain. I was already wet, and there were bugs all over the nose, so why not wash it off. Then just about when I got that done and finished unloading the camper, the rain eased off and we backed it up into it's spot next to the house. After that project was finished, the Harrison kids arrived and Jack arrived to help with installation of the kitchen light we needed to replace. We had to think a little bit about it, but eventually, we got the dang thing installed. After that, the Harrison kids were the project, and then the Southwell kids arrived. Once they left we had some supper, and then I worked on school work. I think I should be wrapped up with all my "stuff" for the day, so I can concentrate on watching the Bears game tonight on television.
Yesterday (Sunday at the campground)....we had rain in the morning, but then the rest of the day was dry and even turned out pretty nice. In the morning, my mom sat with us for awhile as her horse show she was supposed to have a Loud Thunder got rained out. Later, Shawn helped me finish the installation project to the roof vents that I wanted to accomplish, so that was something that I wanted to get done. Then Kristi and Mallory came later in the evening, and we went for a nice hike. In between we played some bags and had some beverages and visited. The bugs - gnats and flies - were awful from about new to dusk, so we did spend a little time indoors. In the evening, we sat by the campfire - even Amber got to join us on this night.
Saturday at the campground...Shawn and Mary and Chloe were at Chloe's volleyball game, so I had Harrison girls duty. Yes, Amber and I babysat all three Harrison kids in the camper at the campground for the weekend. Honestly, it went fine. The girls wanted to constantly be doing things, so I got exercise as we went to the playground and went on hikes and just generally ran around. Shawn and I and Mary and Randy Heisch and Chloe sat around the campfire and talked while Amber was with the kids turning in early in the campground.
Friday night at the campground...Shawn had a football game to officiate, so he didn't come out. It was just Amber and I and the Harrison kids. The weather was great...those gnats were brutal. We watched movies and played and had fun...we did have a campfire, and Jack and Rhonda joined us for a bit.
OVERALL...it was the kind if weekend that had just about everything. I needed it. I wish it didn't have to end.
