Monday, October 25

6:08 a.m. - There will be no walk outside this morning.  The very cruddy weather continues - cold, windy, rainy...yuck!  Yesterday I helped a the church breakfast, which didn't go very well.  There was plenty of food and plenty of help, but the cold rain kept a lot of folks from coming out.  I felt bad for the workers and planners of the event, but I also was so impressed with their efforts.  They are such good people, and it was good for me to be around them.  At the end of my shift, I grabbed a to-go order and continued my camping in the backyard experience.  I turned the heater on in the Eagle, along with the electric heater.  I also turned on the television.  I then commenced to eating my to-go order in the comfort of the camper while listening and watching the rain.  I suppose some folks would consider my actions quite weird, but I enjoyed my quiet, peaceful time.  Amber had gone shopping and didn't return until mid-afternoon, and in that time I had relaxed in the rocker, watched some football, and even took a nap up in the bedroom, which felt great!  I don't have the water or sewer hooked up, so I did have to dodge raindrops occasionally, but it was all good.  After Amber got home, she even "camped" with me for a bit and told me about her day.  Later in the afternoon, we went down to the new Bally's Casino to celebrate Karrigan earning her RN license.  I didn't do very well at first, but I finished in a flurry, which was nice.  We also had a little supper at the little cafe in the casino.  Then we came home, and I worked on entering Khan Academy grades for the students and assembled my lesson plans for my Monday.  Oh, I also made a phone call to Cole in Atlanta to see how he was doing, and it was nice to see him via video call.

Today I have one more junior high girls basketball game at Rockridge, and then my schedule looks clear of officiating for a week.  I'm keeping an eye on the weather for this coming weekend.  I'd like to get the Eagle out to Loud Thunder one last time.  The weather forecast this morning suggested that another rain system is coming in Thursday, so I'll have to see how that goes.  I was considering a personal day on Friday to give myself a three day weekend, but I need the weather outlook to be a little better.
