6:52 a.m. - Happy Birthday Amber - 50 isn't all that bad! And Happy Fathers' Day Jim Bizarri!
I survived yesterday without too much difficulty. The key in an officiating marathon is taking care of the feet, staying hydrated, and supplying the old bones with enough Tylenol to get through it. I really didn't feel too bad until the seventh game, so that was good. Today, I'm pretty stiff and sore, and I didn't sleep very well, but all of that is to be expected. As long as the day was, I really, really enjoy officiating basketball ... just being on the court in the game is one of my happy places on earth. I worked with Robbie for four games, and it was good to see him, as we work together from time-to-time during the season. And then I worked with Kraig McPeek, who is just starting out at officiating basketball. He's doing okay for just starting out - he just needs to work on the same little things we all need to work on when we just begin. That should be the last scheduled hard day of officiating/umpiring of the season. There is a chance I'll work some youth softball during the July 4th weekend, but that's not on the schedule as of now.
I'm not sure what today is going to be like. The weather is supposed to be sort of cloudy and rainy, so I don't think it's going to be a pool day. I do need to get in a good stretch and would think some time in the inflatable hot tub would be good for my aching muscles. I also will head to my parents' house to see Dad and give him a card.
